Children of the World, was
founded in 2005 by Catherine H.
Miller (USA) and Estiphanos
Berhanu Dea (Ethiopia). We
believe in the words of Mother
Teresa, “We can do no great
things; only small things with
great love." After working for
disaster relief organization in
Africa, we committed to changing
the world one child at a time.
Children of the World (CTW), is
a charitable organization
established to improve the lives
of the people in the world,
especially the children, who
live in poverty or at risk of
misfortune. Our focus is to
change the lives of
poverty-stricken people
throughout the world, especially
the children; providing food,
shelter, clothing, education,
and health care. We support
individuals, families, and
groups who care for children.
We currently are working with
two orphanages; Emmanuel Orphans
Development Association (EODA)
Woliso, Ethiopia and the Jehzjet
Children Outreach Missions (JCOM),
Monrovia, Liberia. We partner in
these endeavors to help ensure
total transparency and
accountability in project
implementation. War, AIDS,
malaria, cholera and famine have
gradually turned Africa into a
continent full of orphaned
children and teenagers.
According to the latest
statistics released by the
United Nations Children's Fund
(UNICEF) and the Joint United
Nations Program on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS),
there are 48.3 million orphans
south of the Sahara desert,
one-quarter of whom have lost
their parents to AIDS.
Between 1990 and 2000, the
number of orphans in Africa rose
from 30.9 million to 41.5
million, and those orphaned by
AIDS increased from 330,000 to
seven million. Projections by
the two U.N. agencies suggest
that by 2010, there will be 53.1
million children, under 18 years
without their parents. 100% of
